As the clock struck midnight on December 31st, I knew 2025 had to be different. After stepping away from my virtual assistant business, Virtually Michala at the beginning of 2024, I’ve decided to relaunch with renewed purpose, clearer strategies, and bold goals. The world of virtual assistance has evolved rapidly, and so have I. This blog marks the beginning of my journey to rebuild, redefine, and grow my business in 2025.
Why Restart Now?
Life has a way of throwing curveballs, and while my first attempt at running a VA business taught me a lot, it also showed me areas where I needed growth. Taking time off allowed me to gain clarity, sharpen my skills, and reflect on what truly matters. Now, with the remote work industry booming and businesses increasingly outsourcing tasks to focus on growth, the timing feels perfect to dive back in.
Lessons from the Past
Reflecting on my earlier experiences, I realised that:
1. Clarity is Key: I lacked a clear niche, which made it harder to market my services effectively.
2. Systems Matter: Running a VA business without streamlined processes led to inefficiencies.
3. Consistency Wins: Inconsistent marketing efforts left me struggling to maintain a steady client base.
This time, I’m armed with knowledge, tools, and a plan to avoid these pitfalls.
My Goals for 2025
Restarting isn’t just about picking up where I left off; it’s about building something stronger and more sustainable. Here are the key goals guiding my business this year:
1. Define My Niche: Specialisation is crucial in today’s competitive market. I’ll focus on supporting small business owners in property industries with administrative support, project management, and social media coordination.
2. Streamline Processes: I plan to implement tools like Click Up and Notion to manage projects efficiently, ensuring a seamless experience for both my clients and myself.
3. Client Acquisition and Retention: My goal is to onboard 10 new clients this year while creating strong systems to retain them through exceptional service and relationship-building.
4. Build a Personal Brand: Through blogging (like this one), social media, and networking, I want to establish myself as a thought leader in the VA space, sharing tips and insights with fellow entrepreneurs.
5. Prioritise Work-Life Balance: Burnout is real, and this year, I’ll ensure that my business grows sustainably without compromising my health or personal life.
The Excitement of a Fresh Start
Restarting isn’t easy—it’s humbling, exciting, and nerve-wracking all at once. But it’s also a chance to write a new chapter. The lessons I’ve learned and the goals I’ve set give me confidence that this time, I can build a business that thrives.
I’ll be using this blog as a space to document my journey, share insights, and connect with others who are navigating their own entrepreneurial paths.
To anyone else considering a fresh start in 2025: It’s never too late to pursue your goals. Here’s to a year of growth, learning, and success!
